Surface Plot

The Surface Plot (or 3-D Plot) tool, found on the View tab, creates a three-dimensional representation of the pixel intensities of an image.  For example, a 2-D picture of a dandelion is rendered in three dimensions as follows:

When using the Surface Plot tool, keep in mind that X = length;  Y = width; and Z = height.  

Whenever a surface plot is currently active in the Image-Pro workarea, the Surface Plot ribbon is available for making adjustments to the three-dimensional rendering. The Surface Plot ribbon has the following groupings of controls:
