Style

The options on the Style group govern the display of the surface plot.

Axes:  Click on the Axes tool to show/hide the axes.  Click on the arrow to the right of the Axes tool to open a menu of options that allow you to control the appearance and format of the axes.

  • Transparency: Allows you to make the walls forming the X, Y, and Z axes more transparent or more opaque.
  • Wall Color: Allows you to change the color of the walls forming the X, Y, and Z axes.
  • Text Color: Allows you to change the color of the labels and lines.
  • Auto Range: When this option is selected, the range of the Z axis is calculated from image data; when this option is unchecked, the range of the Z axis is defined by the image type.

Legend: When the surface plot draw mode is either "Color" or "Wire," Image-Pro provides a legend that describes the scale to which the color modulation corresponds.  Click the Legend tool to show and hide the legend.  Click the arrow to the right of the Legend tool to access Position control.  This control allows you specify where in the surface plot display you want the legend to appear.

Light: The surface plot's 3-D appearance can be enhanced by adding lighting effects.  These effects simulate reflected light from a light source.  Click the Light tool to successively apply each lighting option to the active surface plot.  Click on the arrow to the right of the Light tool to display the light options menu.

  • Scheme: This list box contains all the options for the light source style and position.
  • Color: This control allows you to change the color of the light that is reflected.

Background: Click on this tool to access the background display options.  You can use these controls to change the appearance of the background on which the surface plot is rendered.

Reset: Click this tool to reset the surface plot settings to their defaults.  This reset applies to all settings available through the Draw Mode and Style groups.
