Options

Click Options on the Line Profile ribbon to show the Options dialog box. The options are described below.

Mono Interpretation: This option is only relevant if you are working with a color image.  If selected, Image-Pro uses the calculated monochrome (luminance) pixel values for its measurements.  If unselected, Image-Pro plots three profiles for every single line drawn in the image — one profile each for red, green, and blue pixel values.

Normalize Background: This checkbox is only relevant if a line profile is selected in the Background group.  When not checked, the background line profile is matched pixel-for-pixel to the other line profiles drawn in the image.  When unchecked, therefore, accuracy of data depends on the background line profile being of the same length as the line profiles used to obtain edge measurements.  If, however, your background line profile has a length unique to itself, you can check this box to “normalize” it to the length of the longest line profile drawn in the image.  This means it is stretched or contracted to that normalized length.

Background Visible: This checkbox is only relevant if a line profile is selected in the Background group.  It allows you to show and hide the background line profile in the Line Profile Window.  This controls only the visibility of the line profile.  It does not disable the background line profile when unchecked.

Display XY Position: This option is only relevant if you are in the Table view of the Line Profile window.

Update Intensity Map: Select this option to improve the pictorial representation of the currently-selected line profile as it appears at the bottom of the Graph view of the Line Profile window.

Show/Hide Statistics: This option is only available if the Measurement View is currently selected in the Line Profile window.  When selected, the Measurement View table appends statistics to the end of the measurement data.  If unselected, only the measurement data itself is shown.

Spatial Calibration:  This option allows you to apply the active image's spatial calibration definition to a line profile so that distance information is reported in calibrated values rather than pixel-length values.  When applied, the location of each detected edge will be reported according the units of the calibration definition (rather than in terms of pixel locations).

Note: Position information for a given edge is reported at the bottom of the Line Profile window when you click on the edge marker in the Graph view.  Position information for all detected edges is also reported in the Table view of the Line Profile window.

Intensity Calibration:  This option allows you to apply the active image's intensity calibration definition to a line profile so that pixel brightness information is reported in calibrated values rather than grayscale values.  When applied, the intensity values of peaks and valleys will be reported according the units of the calibration definition (rather than in terms of pixel grayscale values).
