Audit Trail
The controls of the Audit Trail group allow you to view a sortable record of Image-Pro commands that have been executed for a given Image-Pro session. There are also tools in the Audit Trail group for adding digital signatures to the audit trails.
The audit trail feature can be enabled or disabled through the Enable Audit Trail option on the Options dialog box.
Audit Trail: Click this button to display the Image-ProAudit Trail window. The Audit Trail window allows you to view a record of all Image-Pro commands that have been executed for a given session. The toolbar options are described below.
Application Audit Trail: Click this tool to show the audit trail for the entire Image-Pro application, including actions taken during the current session to change application options, define application settings, and open and manipulate images and document files.
Image Audit Trail: Click this tool to show the audit trail for the active image.
Load: Use this tool to navigate to open a previously-saved audit trail stored on your computer.
Save: Use this tool to save the current audit trail to a file. Saved audit trails can be recalled at a later time using the Load tool.
Export to Excel: Use this tool to export the current audit trail to Excel. When you click on this tool, Excel is opened and the current audit trail is loaded into a blank spreadsheet as a new (unsaved) file.
Image Signature: Click this tool to have Image-Pro compute the image signature of the current image, and insert it into the audit trail. Note that image signatures can be automatically added to the audit trail whenever an image is opened or saved by checking the Automatic Image Signature option on the Options dialog box.
File Signature: Click this tool to have Image-Pro compute the file signature of the current document file, and insert it into the audit trail. Note that document signatures can be automatically added to the audit trail whenever a document is opened or saved by checking the Automatic File Signature option on the Options dialog box.
Audit Event: Click this tool to insert a user-defined audit event into the audit trail. When you click this tool, an undefined audit event is added to the audit trail. You can give it a description by selecting it in the application workspace and typing the description in the Comment column.
Entering Comments
For any audit trail item, you can enter a comment for that event in the "Comment" column.
Sorting Audit Trail Events
Audit trails can be easily sorted by clicking and dragging column headers to the "Drag a column header here..." area. For example, to sort by User, click and drag the "User" column header.
You can build a sort by adding column headers to the sort order. For example, if after dragging the "User" header to the "Drag a column header..." area you drag the "Command" header, Image-Pro will sort first by User and then by Command.
You can remove a sort selection by simply clicking and dragging it back to the column header bar.
Adding and Removing Columns
The columns of Audit Trail grid can be added or removed using the Select Columns tool. Right-click on the column header bar to show the Audit Trail context menu.
Click on Select Columns. The Select Columns dialog box is displayed.
Click and drag column headings into and out of this dialog box to add them to and remove them from the Audit Trail table.
