Class

The Class group contains tools that allow you to organize measurements intodifferent classes. Once assigned to a class a measurement adopts the style of the class, and it is associated with the class name in the measurements table. The use of classes allows for better visual recognition and organization of measurements. Measurements can be sorted by classin the measurements table.

The list box at the top of the Class group lists all currently defined classes. The properties of the selected class (Active Class) are applied to the selected object(s) when you click the Apply button.

Objects that are created by Manual measurement tools and the objects added from the Features Manager get the Active Class parameters.

Objects that are created by automatic segmentation (Count operation) using Threshold or Smart segmentations derive Class display options from the Class controls of the corresponding tools.

The steps for using the Class tools to group objects into different classes are as follows:

Click on the Add tool to create a new class.

A new class name appears in the Name field with the default name "Class n", where n is the number of classes previously defined plus one.

(Optional) Type over the text "Class n" with a more meaningful name for the new class.

Click the Color and Shape tool. A sub-menu opens from which you can set the class’s display options:

Choose between the Class and Random radio buttons to assign colors to your class objects.

You can change the color assigned to a class from the color picker.

Filled: Select this check box to display class objects filled, leave it unchecked to only display the outlines of class objects. With filled selected you can set the opacity of the fill to values from 0 to 100% in 10% increments from the drop-down menu.

Border:  Select this check box to display the border of objects at 100% opacity and with the Shape Options applied.

Line Width: Set the width lines in pixels.

Line Style: Choose from a selection of dashed, dotted, and solid line styles.

Point Shape: Select the style to be applied to points.

End Points: Choose from a selection of line end point options, including arrows, dots, and crossbars of various sizes.

Click the Select tool (the arrow) from the select tool group.

Click on each object in the active image that belongs to the new class. Hold the <Ctrl> key down to select multiple objects.

In the Class group, click the Apply tool.

The selected objects are assigned to the new class.

Repeat steps 1-6 for each additional class that you want to define.
