Merge

The option in the Merge group are described below:

Merge Cells: Use this tools to merge a group of contiguous cells into a single merged cell. To use this tool, simply highlight the contiguous cells you want to merge, and click oint he Merge Cells tool.

Split Cells: Use this tool to split cells into multiple rows and/or columns. To use this tool, simply highlight the cell or cells you want to split, then click on the Split Cells tool. Image-Pro prompts you for the number of rows and columns you want to split the cell(s) into.

By default, cells are split into two columns. If you have selected multiple cells, the Merge cells before split option is automatically selected. For example, if five cells were selected, and the default behavior is to merge them before the split, and then double the number of columns (from five to ten). If Merge cells before split is used, then the Number of columns spin box specifies the number of columns to be created on the whole merged cell region, and the resulting columns will be evenly distributed across that region. If you deselect the Merge cells before split option, the Number of columns field specifies the number of columns into which you want to split each cell, and the current column widths will be maintained.

You can also split cells horizontally by specifying a value greater than one in the Number of rows spin box.

Split Table: Use this option to separate a single table into two separate tables. To use this tool, highlight the row in the table at which you want to split the table, and click on the Split Table tool. Image-Pro automatically splits the table and inserts a body paragraph carriage return between them to separate them.
