3D View > Volume Display
Image-Pro with 3D Module only
The Volume Display group of the 3D View ribbon provides controls for reloading the image with different sub-sampling and/or voxel size settings. It also has controls that allow you to store and retrieve entire sets of 3D View selections and settings.
Reload: The Reload button allows you to reload the image with different voxel size and sub-sampling settings. When you click Reload, the Load Image dialog box is displayed.
Change the X, Y, and Z voxel size and/or subsampling options, as desired, and then click OK to reload the image with the new settings. The Voxel size options control the width, depth, and height of each 3D pixel (or "voxel"). Increasing a value above "1" is like zooming that plane of the 3D image.
Subsampling: The Subsampling options allow you to limit the display of one or more planes to show only every nth pixel. For example, you can show every other X-axis pixel by putting in a value of 2. When the Auto checkbox is active, the volume is sub-samples automatically; if the size exceeds 128x128x128, it allows faster processing and smother volume handling.
Large Volume Display handling: When Large Volume license is available, user can activate the Large Volume Display handling to display the volume at variable resolution. The large volume options can be configured clicking the Options button.
Reload: Click the down arrow just below the Reload tool to view the following additional options:
- Reload When Image Changed: Check this box and Image-Pro automatically reloads the 3D view whenever the content of the original image is changed. For example, filtering operations applied to the original image will be immediately reflected in the 3D view. Reload when LUT changed: Check this box and Image-Pro automatically reloads the 3D view whenever LUT changes are made to the original image. For example, adjusting the brightness, contrast, or display range on the original image will be immediately reflected in the 3D view.
- Load Configuration/Save Configuration: The Load and Save Configuration tools in the Volume Display group allow you to manage your rendering options in files stored on your hard drive. Rendering options include all 3D View ribbon settings and selections controlling the visual representation of the image. Click the Load tool to open and load 3D Viewer settings from a previously saved *.ren file. Click the Save tool to save your current 3D Viewer settings to a *.ren file.
- Save: Clicking the Save tool will save the complete 3D experiment, including all rendering options (as in REN file) and also the reference to the source image (or image set) to S3D file. Note, that source image must have file name, so if the image is created in the program, it must be saved first as image set or a sequence. S3D files can be loaded using File | Open menu item.
- Reset: Click the Reset tool to reset all of the 3D View options and settings to their default values.
