Graphical Object Context Menu Options -- Reports

When you right-click on a graphical object in a report, the context menu that is displayed provides controls to align, layer, resize, and control text wrapping around the graphical object. These are the "Wrap Text", "Bring to Front", and "Send to Back" tools.

These options are made available for illustrations added using the Picture tool, and for text boxes added using the Text Box tool.

Note: These options are not available for pictures inserted using the Inline Picture tool.

Wrap Text: Click this option to select the text wrapping option you want applied to the image. When you click this option, a submenu of options is displayed. These options control how text wraps around the picture.

  • Square: The text will be continuous, but it will skip over the area taken up by the picture.
  • Tight: Same as Square, but the margin between the text and the picture is smaller.
  • Through: Same as Square.
  • Top and Bottom: The text will skip from the end of the line preceding the picture at the top, to the beginning of the first available line following the picture at the bottom.
  • Behind Text: The text will not wrap at all, and the picture will be layered behind the text.
  • In Front of Text: The text will not wrap at all, and the picture will be layered in from the text.

Bring to Front: This control allows you to layer overlapping pictures by bringing some forward in the stack. You can select from the following options:

  • Bring to Front: Click this to bring the selected picture to the top of the stack of pictures.
  • Bring Forward: Click this to bring the selected picture one position forward in the stack of pictures.

Send to Back: This control allows you to layer overlapping pictures by sending some toward the back of the stack. You can select from the following options:

  • Send to Back: Click this to sends the selected picture to the bottom of the stack of pictures.
  • Send Backward: Click this to send the selected picture one position backward in the stack of pictures.

More Layout Options: This option opens the Layout dialog box which has additional picture properties options. There are, for example, alignment options, positioning options, as well as additional Text Wrapping and Size options you can access through the Layout dialog box. There are also options to rotate the image and to lock or unlock the aspect ratio of the image.
