Using the Predictive Calibration Feature
Using the Predictive Calibration feature, you can obtain system-calculated calibration definitions based on the specifications of your camera and the optical characteristics of your lenses.
To use the Predictive Calibration feature:
Navigate
to the Calibration group on the
Capture ribbon.
Click on the down arrow to the right of the Calibration Options tool.
A menu of options is displayed.
Click on Show Predictive Calibration
The Create Predictive Calibrations dialog box is displayed.
From the Camera Manufacturer list box, select the camera you are using.
Most popular cameras are listed there by default. If the camera you are using does not appear in the list, you can select "Other" and define the camera's specifications in the other fields of the Camera Parameters group. If the camera you are using is listed, the various specifications for that camera will be automatically filled in.
In the Calibration Suffix text box, type the text string you want used in the naming of the calibration definitions. See step 10 for more information.
In the Optical Parameters group, specify the lenses you are using with the camera.
The lenses listed are those that have been selected through the
"Lenses" area of the Lenses dialog box.
Optionally, you can also use the Zooms area to specify additional zooms
that you will be using with the camera, if any.
In the Optical Coupler list box, specify the magnification of the optical coupler being used with the camera.
In the Units list box, specify the units you would like to use for the calibration definitions.
(Optional)
Check the Show calibration dialog
check box.
Check this box if you want Image-Pro
to display the Spatial Calibration dialog box after the quick-calibration
routine is completed. If
you think you will need to refine the calibration settings after you quick-create
the calibration definition, this option saves you the trouble of clicking
the Options tool on the ribbon.
Click OK.
Calibration definitions are automatically calculated added to the list of available calibration definitions. The calibration definitions are auto-named as follows:
[zoom value] [test in Calilbration Suffix field]
For example, "10x Cascade 128," "20x Cascade 128," and so on.
If you open the Spatial Calibration dialog box, you can see them listed in the list box of available calibration definitions.
