Setting the Default Appearance for ROIs and Annotations
The default appearance attributes for ROIs and annotations are set by designating the appearance attributes of an existing ROI or annotation as the default for future ROIs and annotations of that type. Note that defaults exist independently for each type of annotation you can draw: rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse, polygon, point, and text.
To set the default appearance for a type of ROI or annotation:
Click the Select tool in the Regions of Interest or Annotations group, depending on whether you want to set the default appearance for a type of ROI or Annotation. These tool groups are located on the Select tab.
In the active image, click on an ROI/annotation of the type for which you want to set appearance defaults.
For example, if you want to set the default appearance for ellipse-type annotations, click on an ellipse-type annotation in the active image. If one doesn’t exist, draw one.
Click on the
Options tool in the Annotations group .
You will see the Display Options dialog box along the right side of the workspace.
Use the controls of the Display Options dialog box to configure the selected annotation the way you want all annotations of that type to look when you draw them in the future.
In the Display Options dialog, click Save as Default.
The default appearance values are set. Future ROIs/annotations of that type will appear as the selected ROI/annotation.
