Data Collector
The Data Collector feature allows you to collect, present, and analyze
data from one or more images across multiple data sources. In
this way it allows you to consolidate and compare measurements and other
data. It
can be used, for example, to collect measurement data in multi-image experiments
The Data Collector also allows you to automatically collect data from the live preview window. The collected data is then presented in chart windows, which are updated with every new captured frame. Data collected in this way can show graphs of changing intensities, sizes, and other object/image parameters during live image monitoring.
Finally, the Data Collector provides an ability to create user-defined measurements based on calculations done on existing measurements collected from multiple data sources.
Click here for step-by-step instructions for using the Data Collector. The various controls on the Data Collector ribbon bar are described below.
The controls on the Data Collector group box are described in detail below:
Collect: Clicking the main Collect button will collect data from the active document. The data types that will be collected are whatever has been defined in the Types drop-down control (see Collector Data Types). Click on the Collect tool down arrow to show the Buffer Size option.
- Buffer Size: Enter the desired size of the rolling buffer that will be used for collecting data from live images. The value entered here defines the number of data blocks (collection events) to be retained in the data collector. When the limit is reached, the data blocks from the beginning get deleted and new blocks are added to the tail. If the buffer size is set to 0, no limit will be used.
Auto Collect: When the Auto Collect button is active, data will be collected automatically whenever a selected data provider detects changes to the data source.
Delete Last Block: The Delete Last Block button will delete last collected block of data. The Delete all button will remove all data.
Delete All: The Delete All button deletes all collected data.
Types: The list of available data providers and data types can be selected in the Types drop-down. Click here for more information.
Save/Load: The list of measurements can be saved and loaded from a file using the Save and Load buttons.
Views: There are several options for visualizing data collected through the Data Collector. For example, you can visualize it in a table format, or as a pie chart. Click here for more information.
