Best Fit
The tools in this group allow you to obtain approximate area, angle, and length measurements of features in your images by 'fitting' circles, arcs, and lines to them. For example, suppose you want to obtain an approximate area measurement of a feature in your image that is circular but is not a perfect circle. The 'best fit circle' tool will fit a perfect circle to it based on points you click on its perimeter.
Best-fit Circle: This tool allows you to trace a circular feature in the image by defining any number of points along or near its circumference. It measures the area of the resulting circle.
Click on two or more points of the circular feature in the image. Double-click to define the last point and to complete the circle.
Best-fit Arc: This tool allows you to trace an arc-shaped feature in the image (up to 180 degrees) by defining any number of points along the arc’s curve. It measures the line length and angle of the resulting arc.
Click on one end of the arc, click at or near the center of the arc, and then click on the other end of the arc.
Best-Fit Line: This tool allows you to trace a line in the image by defining points on or near the line. It measures the length of the resulting line.
Click on two or more points of the line feature in the image. Double-click to define the last point and to complete the line.
