Creating a Reference Point (Free Form Intensity Calibration)

Free form intensity calibration is accomplished by specifying "reference points" that define how the intensity scale associated with the image is to be interpreted by Image-Pro.  You can create reference points in either the Graph View or the Table View of the Advanced Display window.

To create a reference point in the Graph View:

  1. Right-click the mouse in the graph at the approximate location where you want to place the reference point.
The Advanced Display window context menu appears.
  2. Click on Add Free Form Point.
A reference point is added at that location.
  3. (If necessary) Click and drag the point to the exact target location for the reference point.

To create a reference point in the Graph View:

  1. Click on the lower-most empty cell of the X column in the X,Y table.
  2. Type the input intensity value to be calibrated.
  3. Click on the lower-most empty cell of the Y column.
  4. Type the desired result value.
  5. Press <Enter>.
